Recently my wife and I took a stroll at Confederation Park along the asphalt walkway, sharing the space with in-line skaters and bicyclists. Most citizens use the path in harmony with others.

Unfortunately some cyclists ride far too fast and without warning bells or horns, and take the very lives of those walking into their hands. You can tell these athletes by their beautifully coloured racing jerseys or by how they ride to catch the drag of the lead racer. Meanwhile, the elderly and young are in great peril from this lack of responsibility.

This does not apply to those bikers who ride at a reasonable speed. Please, before someone is injured or killed, could we not have some enforcement of the speed limit on these paths.

For those who must ride with such finesse and bravado, use your skills on the roads, where the speeds you ride at are permitted.
