SHEWFELT, George Ernest (Ernie) February 3, 1929 - April 11, 2013 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ernie at the age of 84. Predeceased by his wife Sophie, son Douglas and granddaughter Talitha. Cherished father to Joanne (Bill) Jaquith and Jim (Karen). Grandpa to Douglas. Predeceased by brother and sisters Milt, Roberta "Bobbie" Shaw and Jackie Wakefield. Survived by sister Irene and brother and sisters-in-law Ed and Jenny Jaskiewicz and Stella Jaskiewicz. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to great friends Barb and Jim Doucette and family who opened their hearts and have gone above and beyond to help Ernie. Ernie worked at Stelco for 38 years and lived on the Hamilton Beach Strip for 25 years where he ran Ernie's Lunch with his family. A very special thanks to the staff and Dr. Whynot at Country Terrace in Komoka. Friends will be received at DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME , 36 Lake Avenue Drive in Stoney Creek on Monday, April 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
