A reminder that our next meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7pm at the
Hamilton Beach Rescue Unit (across from Dynes Tavern).
We'll have updates on the lantern room cleanup, the transfer of ownership,
our financial position, and more.
We'll also have a guest speaker, Rob McDonald of Archaeological Services in
Burlington. Rob will give an overview of the archaeological potential of the
canal area and we'll have a general discussion of what opportunities this
may hold for BCLG.
This is our last "Summer" meeting, so do try to attend. Bring a friend, too!

P.S. Looking for something different to do on Monday? Bill Warnick is
organizing a cleanup around old Lock 27 at Port Maitland and he needs help,
a weed sprayer, and a gasoline weed whacker. Lock 27 was built by John
Brown, who built our lighthouse. While you're there, you can also see his
first lighthouse on Mohawk Island, just offshore in Lake Erie. For more
