Has anyone read the latest beach banner...for the date of the garage sale?
Is it a typo?
Remaining Scheduled Council Meeting Dates: June 3 The Annual Garage Sale
Sorry not a typo, it was just the short version.
Our next Beach Council meeting will be on June 3rd and one of the items to be discussed will be the garage sale.
Everyone is welcome.
Thanks for asking.:tbu:

From the June 2008, Beach Banner

Hamilton Beach Annual Garage sale-will be held Sunday, July 13th.
There will be a drive on that day for non-perishable food items to donate to local food banks. Let's rally as a neighbourhood and show our generosity! Locations for drop off will be advertised and anyone interested in collecting, either at their homes or pick up goods from neighbours please let one of us know. Numbers removed

This is our first year on Beach for the annual Garage sale. We are closer to the lift bridge end - do people stroll the whole strip - where is it advertised. Not sure what to expect - any feedback to share?
Thanks - looking forward to meeting some of the neighbours.

You get much near that end of the Beach, it is mostly concentrated from the south end to about the middle, then it gets a little less busy as you hear towards the canal.
Jimmy Lomax (aka. Santa Clause) does advertise and there is sometimes a some blurb in the Spec, I also get many emails starting in Feburary from people asking when it going to be held.
There are many pictures and comments from the last three (could be four) sales posted on this Forum, do a search and type in Garage Sale.

thanks scotto - but just clariy - we don't or we do get much at our end?
In past years, there has never been many people that travel down to that end. If you want to set up, many will drive past and may stop for a look. But the majority just want to park their car and do it by foot and if they buy something, then they don't want to be too far from your car and have to carry their items around for miles.
Again, it is very busy from the north end cut off to about the beach store and then it gets less busy as you head towards the canal.
So to clarify, no you will not get much traffic if you are near the canal end of the Beach.

uumm what?

My friend is listening to the radio right now and Jim Lomax is on and they are saying the Garage Sale is Saturday..............
So there is going to be a lot of confusion on the date. Anyone listening will be there Saturday yet everyone else will be there Sunday.
What is the real date? It's always been on Sunday.

I will be just going to bed then at around 7am, but it will still be going when I get up, as long as the rain stays away.
The rain cut it short last year.
