Hamilton police say a violent home invasion on the Beach Strip Wednesday evening may have been retaliation for something that occurred between two groups of men earlier in the week.
Three men smashed their way into the Beach Boulevard, near Rembe Drive, just after 7 p.m., and attacked the three men who live there.
One of the occupants ran out the back and escaped. Another put up a fight and was smashed over the head with a hammer. His injuries were not life threatening. The third, who was hit with a chair, leaped through a bedroom window while the three intruders fled from the house.
None of the occupants of the home suffered life threatening injuries.
Police say the two groups are “known to each other” from an earlier incident but did not say what that may have been.
The attack is still under investigation.
