From Councillor Collins' Office;

Part of Centennial Parkway to close this weekend for rail bridge work

HAMILTON, ON – July 16, 2015 – At 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17th Centennial Parkway will be closed between Goderich Street and Arrowsmith Drive (Home Depot entrance) to facilitate the relocation of the CN train tracks to the newly constructed rail bridge. The train crossing gates will also be relocated as part of this work. CN crews and the contractor will work over the weekend to complete this work and the road will reopen to traffic by 5:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20th.

Traffic will be diverted around this area and should follow the posted detour signs. HSR Route 56-Centennial will also detour around the closure. For more details please visit Hamilton.ca/hsr and look under ‘News and Detours.’

The bridge work is scheduled to be complete by June 2016 with the expectation to have traffic under the bridge by December 2015. CN Rail, the owner of the rail corridor, is managing the bridge replacement project in partnership with the City and Metrolinx.
