Thanks and yes, one bird is staying in the nesting box. They were first last year so hopefully again this year.

MadamX downtown did lay 2 eggs but they aren't showing up in the nest now. Plus she isn't incubating anymore either. No idea what is happening to the nest. Not a good sign.

Any word on the bridge nest?

I read in the Spec that the falcon experts think she is getting too old to have anymore offspring.

They eat the shells for the calcium. But she usually doesn't do that till after they hatch....Weird.

And yes I can't see another bird getting close to HER nest with or without any eggs present.

It's possible that MadamX might have laid more eggs but she decided to move to the other ledge so it's very hard to see what's going on. Hopefully at the end of this month we might have some chicks.

I just read up on the bridge nest and so far at least 2 chicks have been seen in the nest.

MadamX has laid at least one egg in the new ledge. It's hard to say how many are there since she is so close to the camera now.

Let's hope they all hatch and survive. :)

It looks like it won't be too long before they band the babies at the bridge nest.

Such beautiful creatures they are. :)

If they haven't hatched by now they won't be, two are easier to care for anyway.

And from the Peregrine Site;
CPF Postmaster Reports:

May 15th - 2014
We’re happy to announce that a banding date has been set and booked for May 23rd at 10am!
Stay tuned for further updates.

The two chicks were banded and named today, Ireland and Ghent. Hopefully more info will be posted on the Peregrine site and some banding pictures.
