Hi all, I am so glad I found this page. I grew up on the beach,we lived in a couple of houses started out on Comet Ave. then moved to the corner of Beach Blvd and Mareve Ave. just down from the Dynes Tavern. I live in Connecticut now but will ALWAYS be Canadain and a Beach Bum!!. I worked at Hutch's for many years and always make that place a stop when I come home. I noticed on your gallery you have all my school pics posted. Someone in here went to school with me al those years.. I wonder who it is... hmmmm

I miss the Beach Strip !!:wavey:

Hi Gail;
Good to hear from you and thanks for joining the Site.
The school photos were sent in by various members, a couple at a time.
So no one member donated all nine (ktg to grade 8).
Maybe you could point yourself out in one of them.

Also as you may know, the Dynes is now gone, boooooooo!(Hutchs' is still there)

Hi WaterLilly I live in Lebanon CT between Hartford and the shoreline, close to Colchester, Hebron. I work at Foxwoods Casino. Nothing beats the good old Beach though.

Hi Gary;
Welcome to the Beach Site and thank you for your old beach memories. Sue Fisher is a member here and does stop in once in a while but I haven't heard from the Moffatts in many years, one of our Beach Council members now owns their old house.
Smelting season just past and I don't think they catch much anymore, not like back then anyway.
And no more bon fires on the beach for any reason, not since the trail was built.

The strip will never be what it used to be. Damb bridge ruined all that.
Remember the Hamilton city council was going to make the strip a long park and was on everyone back to get out. Look at the new houses and all the buiding going on.
Just proves that the councilors don't know what they are talking about.
By the time they have found they were wrong it is too late and everything is ruined.

I remember going to see Vaughn monroe in 44 at the dance hall, I road the boat from James st to Lasalle and then the canal.
Am I getting OLD ?

I remember Steve Gross, he use to work at the amusement park a long , long time ago.
Hey Scotto, He did work at the bowling alley.I wish I knew you last name so I know who you are ... Its been years since I have talked with anyone from the Beach and its nice to hear from you all. You may remember my family. When we moved in to our house on the corner of Mareve Ave and the blvd, my sister was killed by drunk driver coming from the Dynes Tavern on the corner of Finch Ave ( I think that was name of the street ) That was back in sept 1969. We moved to that house from Comet Ave. We Lived on the Blvd for a few years then moved to a house down near the amusement Park. My Brother still has many friends on the Beach that he tays in touch with. Its hard for me though since I now live in the U.S

Gail;
I don't know if you would remember me from my last name, I worked at the amusement park when your brother did and mostly ran the ferris wheel, thats was until they found I was underage to work on the big rides and didn't really want the kiddie land rides.
I will send you a PM.

Terri;
I somewhat remember Tom, but your father and mine were pals.
And I think Shelly was your sister???
