Icy conditions have forced organizers to put the city's annual polar plunge on hold.
On Monday, the Optimist Club of Hamilton and the Beach Rescue Unit announced the annual dip at Hutch's on the Beach had been cancelled due to unsafe ice conditions.
The event was to take place Wednesday afternoon.
On its Facebook page, Hutch's apologized for the inconvenience and said it is strongly suggested that no one go in the lake. The ice, it added, is too dangerous for entry or exit.
