At Historic LaSalle Park!

Burlington, ON - Monday August 5th—Civic Holiday Weekend -Look forward to another spectacular year for Joseph Brant Day, a five hours day filled with fantastic line-up of new music, activities, performances and acts! The event runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm at La Salle Park.

Joseph Brant Day is the regionally recognized annual festival put on by the Museums of Burlington. The event always draws a large and diverse crowd. It fosters a great sense of community by encouraging them come out and celebrate the city we live in and one of the area’s earliest and most famous settlers—Joseph Brant Thayendanegea!

To start off the day and the exciting scheduled line-up of music and entertainment at Joseph Brant Day, the M.M. Robinson Drum Line will get hearts racing! After our opening ceremonies, you can expect to see: dazzling dance performances and a special performance by the award-nominated Cheri Maracle as Pauline Johnston, captivating the senses and imagination with a dramatic interpretation, followed by the live music of Doppelganger, a crowd pleaser for all and later Blue Stone Cloud will take the stage with First Nations hoop dancing.

Attractions will include: The fascinating world of the sport of fencing with live stage demonstrations, Kicks for Kids Inflatables and interactive bus, TFC on the road soccer program, Putting Edge- Hole in one game with prizes, a Tiara princesses tea party, JuggleMagic Face painting, balloons & juggling sideshow, a special March of Times Exhibit and .RE/MAX HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES! (10am-12pm)

There will also be the rhythms of a drum circle presented by The Naked Beat, militia drilling demonstrations, and historic re-enactors who will bring history to life..
Participants will be able to get interactive in a range of activities throughout the day, including: Museum’s craft workshops, Water Competitions, Fair-Style Games and a treasure hunt adventure!

We will also continue our tradition of presenting great activities put on by community groups. Craftspeople and vendors, local exhibitors, including art centres, museums, historical sites and parks and recreation facilities will once again set up booths at the event and a range of other activities will be presented to the public including refreshment stands, hands-on activities, a large silent auction and other attractions

For our guest’s convenience, shuttles will transport visitors from Aldershot Station once parking at LaSalle Park is filled. And last but not least, admission to the event will remain free!
