Sorry, if this has been asked before - it's probably common knowledge for most of the people here.

Does Lift bridge operate on any specific schedule? I was always wondering whenever I got stuck waiting for it to go up.
I tried to google it, but I could not find any specific information.

Thanks,
Sebastian

As far as I know, the bridge goes up as required for large ships and on the half hour for smaller boats during daylight hours.

The only scheduled lifts are for pleasure craft, which is every half hour. The commercial traffic move in and out without an up-to-minute schedule, but as Rob points out, it could be anytime of the day. You can go on-line and check moving vessels in the area here;

How did the ice breakers make out this winter when it was another bitterly cold one?
I seen a tug in the harbour on Sunday going through the ice, I am sure they were just doing trails. There weren't any ice breakers around here, but a ship and an American ice breaker had to be assisted on Lake Erie by the Canadian Coast Guard. It was in the news.
