Dear BCLG members and friends,

First things first - attached are minutes from our last meetings. A note about our meeting on Sunday at 2 p.m. - after a brief formal meeting, we'll have a quick lighthouse cookie break and then reconvene for a video presentation. Our own Fred Briggs has completed the 'first cut' of his video-taped interviews with Peter Coletti and Mike Gushulak. It should be fascinating to hear their recollections of life at 1155 Beach Blvd. You'll recall that Pete was the last lightkeeper and Mike's father (also Mike) was his predecessor. Mike grew up at the lighthouse and was trained by his father in the duties of a lightkeeper.

I hope to see you on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Beach Rescue Unit.

Finally, BCLG member Charlene Nigh, who faithfully makes the trek from Fort Erie for most of our meetings, sent along the following note, which may be of interest to some members -

Members of BCLG (and others) may be interested in a program we have planned for Wed. April 9, 2008. We are having Mike Vogel of Buffalo come to speak about the Frenel lens.
Mike has been active on the lighthouse scene, locally and nationally, for many years. He was the founding President of the Buffalo Lighthouse Ass., and this group was instrumental in the restoration of the 1833 Buffalo Lighthouse.
He did the initial U.S. Frenel lens inventory and several years ago organized a National lighthouse lens conservation workshop.

We are anticipating a very interesting evening, so please pass the word !
