Mayor, Regional Chair ask Hydro One CEO for Support in Relocating, Burying Transmission Lines at Burlington Beach Regional Park

Last week, Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr and I sent a letter to the CEO of Hydro One regarding a request for Hydro One Inc. support to relocate and/or bury transmission lines to implement the Burlington Beach Regional Waterfront Park Master Plan. Please click this link (Letter to Mark Poweska – Hydro One Networks Inc – Nov. 12, 2020) or see below.

Just to add, Hydro One has been working on the line for the last month, they are changing the insulators that have been on the towers since they were installed, presently they are down near the lift bridge and likely heading for the Burlington side next. These towers are not going anywhere.
The picture below shows the old and the new insulators.

As stated earlier, Hydro One is now working on the first Burlington side tower that is closest to the canal. They are installing new cable insulators which looks to be costing large amounts of money. I really can't see these towers being removed if they are investing more.
From today;

Added;
The cost for the removal of the towers on the Hamilton side would be significantly more as there are many more towers than on the Burlington side.
