I'd like to hear what the opionions on this tragic shooting is from her home people. We have had this happen sporadicly down here and it is always a tragidy. Do you feel gun control really helps your country prevent such things? Would this happen regardless? I feel for your nation in this senseless act of violence and am just wanting to here what your thoughts are on it. Where I'm from, we educate our children young and take them hunting. Not to say that something like this wouldn't happen but the stigma of guns does not exist here. Your thoughts?:inn:

Yes what a shame and thats not the first time there have been gun problems in that province. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shooting
Even though there is gun control, many Canadians still legally own firearms. A friend of mine has a vault full of all different kinds, but he does do a lot of hunting. I don't have any in my house and have no plans in the near future of buying any. If people want to own guns, then that's their choice, just make sure they locked up and away from the children. How often do hear stories about the family gun that was left in bedroom drawer, the kids find it and you know the rest.
Yes there are wackos on both sides of the border and if someone want to lose and shoot everyone, then there really isn't much to stop them. You can still buy a gun if you are licensed to do so, but many guns are banned no matter what.
It seems to me that there is a whole lot less problems up here though and that is with our gun laws, I think I prefer our way.
