Any news on the bridge nest yet? 4 laid downtown but none hatched yet. If they haven't hatched yet it makes me wonder if they will.

I haven't heard yet, but I am told that the adults are getting a little nasty, so there must be something. I will know more next week.

Nothing downtown yet. And Lily has removed at least one failed egg from the nest. So it isn't looking too promising this spring.

I checked with Barry the bird man today who was sitting on the Beach Trail with his bird scope, he told me that there were three healthy looking fledglings in the Bridge nesting box. There should be a banding soon.

Just an update, there wasn't a banding for our new additions this year(2019) so we don't have any new names to report. We still have two adults but only ended up with two offspring. The first picture shows one of the juveniles who just lost a kill to a gull, the falcon knock a pigeon to the ground near the south east side of the bridge only to have the gull drag it into the canal.

This (grainy) picture shows one of the adults sitting on the nesting box, the box is located on the north tower, canal side windows.

There doesn't seem to be much action in the nesting box, but the regular falcon spotters haven't been around just yet to update us.

I am told that there are no eggs this year, both adult birds are busy flying around but no results in the nesting box. Should have hatchlings by now.

That was quick, I took a look from the Trail back from the Bridge. There is at least one new comer.

There are at least two hatchlings that are now starting to lose their white and get some adult colours.

One of the adult parents and one chick.

The new falcons have grown very quickly, one took it's first flight today and landing on top of the garage at the Bridge, it moved a couple times after being harassed by the smaller birds.

I am told that we have two new little bundles, very recent additions.

The new fledglings have started flying very well on their own and were keeping all the photographers busy all weekend.

The falcon on the bridge handrail is one of the adults with one of the fledglings flying by;

I have not heard anything yet about the falcons, there is a pair in nesting box so there will likely be some new ones on the way. There seems to be more photography people around lately watching them as in past years.
