I don't normally post the shipping news as it usually doesn't have much to do with the Beach, but article has been posted to remind everyone that the shipping season has started once again and the to leave some extra time when using the Lift Bridge.

The first ship of the new year sailed into Hamilton waters yesterday, launching the official start of the area's shipping season.
The Canada Steamship Lines vessel CSL Frontenac, had been wintering in nearby Port Colborne. It arrived at the Hamilton Port Authority to load up on slag, which is headed for Trois Rivieres.
Following tradition, the ship was welcomed by presenting the ship's captain, Joe Pero, above, with a top hat.
The Port of Hamilton handles more than 12 million tonnes of cargo and 700 vessel calls per year.
