Dear Beach Strip Resident,
As it has for the past 119 years, The Around the Bay Road Race, will be taking place
On Sunday March 30, 2014
This is the 120th Anniversary of the Around the Bay Road Race and will see over nine
thousand participants running through Hamilton and Burlington. Money raised through
Donations and Pledges is for st. Joseph's Healthcare. Over the past several years this event
has raised over $1,600,000.
The Around the Bay 30k Road Race is the oldest road race in North America, established
in 1894, three years before the Boston Marathon.
Participants often remark on running along the Beach Strip and seeing all the spectators,
many of whom are clanging pots and pans in encouragement. This has become an annual
tradition, and is much appreciated by all.
We are writing to advise that the race will be passing through your area between lOam and
11 :30am on March 30, 2014 and will cause some minor traffic delays. All residents are
encouraged to come out on the course and cheer on those participating.
Also, we thank all the residents in the vicinity, for their support and understanding each
