This coming Tuesday (Oct. 10th), City Council will vote to allow the Rescue Unit to take over lands around their property. The HBRU want to demolish their tired old storage garage and build a larger new one which will accommodate the bigger rescue boats the Unit has acquired over the last couple of years.
One problem has been access to the garage when the hall is rented out and the parking lot is full, therefore the proposed vote on Tuesday will see the HBRU buy adjoining lands around the building for one dollar.
Good to see the City helping out.
Also, from what I hear at the club, the City is also funding the new garage, again a big thank you to the City of Hamilton.
