"With each name read out at The Dieppe Veterans' Memorial Park on Beach Boulevard Friday night, a candle was placed by someone from the crowd by the cairn underneath flag poles carrying the flags of Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States and France."

And a reminder, the yearly memorial service will held tomorrow at 10:30am, this will be the 70th anniversary of the raid.

I stopped in for the 70th Memorial to take a few pictures, I was a bit difficult as compared to past years as it was very crowded. More spectators, more family of the Vets and a lot more Press.

Are the names on the plaques only the ones died from this raid?

My father's friend was taken POW from this raid but he survived the war. I looked for his name on the plaque but didn't see it there.

I don't know for sure, but I would assume it would be all that were killed in the raid. It must be written on the plaque?

Anyway now that I see this post, I missed this year's ceremony.
