What Uniform?

Does anyone know what kind of uniform on the lady in the middle would have been for? The pic was taken in 1932.

And does anyone know of any of these people in the pic? I only know who the lady second to the right is. A distant family member sent me the pic and we have been trying to find out who the other 4 ladies are.

The two on the left have uniforms as well, my guess is that those are school uniforms and the middle could be a teacher uniform. It doesn't look military or from the medical profession.

I thought that too. I heard the lady second from right moved around a lot so it's hard to say where she was living at the time when that pic was taken.

Obviously not of the Catholic faith nor could I find anything like that looking at old Salvation Army uniforms either.

Possible it was from a private school. The lady second from right would not have attended a private school due to some hard times her family went through then. Hence the family moving around so much. The lady second from right looks about 14 at the time. I will have to read her life story again that was since sent to me by the same person who sent me this pic. Maybe I can pin point the area of where the pic was taken.

I just looked it up her age when that pic was taken. She was 16 then. Back to the article to see if can figure out the possible location at least.

I found this info in the article:

She probably went to the Central Technical School on Wentworth Street until grade 10. She had to drop out of school at the end of 1932 due to the hard times within her family. Is this school still around?

It mentions she lived at 154 Strachan Street and that is so far from Wentworth St. to go to a school. Hmm

I just did a google search for that house and the even side numbers of that street have all been cleared out and just fields and parks and parking lots are there now.
