If you look beside Ryan's Drug Store, you can see Deluxe Cleaners. That is the first time I have seen that building, it must not of lasted long as the building that is there now is the only one I remember seeing in any picture. Great pics JManCan!:tbu:
Wonderful pictures and brings back memories of the glory days. When I went to school at Bell Cairn we played hockey behind Ryan's store on a rink with boards. Not sure who made it but it was great.
The City of Hamilton built and maintained the hockey rink behind my Dad's store when I was young for a number of years (60's and 70's)...then they just maintained the baseball field in the summer till about the mid 70's.
I don't remember that Cleaner's building either beside Dad's store either Scotto...they built the building that is there now...it went through various incarnations...grocery store, restaurant, Mac's Milk, personal residence and now Shutter's (I believe).
