Earth Day 5K– Community Tree Planting– Film Festival



Tim Horton’s Earth Day 5K Walk/Fun Run – Sat. April 26th 10 AM, Bayfront Park

Enter a team of friends, family and colleagues to earn Earth Day T-shirts, a free BBQ lunch and to have a tree reserved for planting. Wear team colours, painted faces or animal costumes. Enjoy music and entertainment and the picturesque beauty of the waterfront! Pre-register at www.EarthDayHamilton.ca.



Sunoco Community Tree-Planting Event – Sat. April 26th 11:30 AM, Princess Point

This great family fun event includes horse drawn wagon rides, tours of the fish-way, an eco-scavenger hunt, food, entertainment, face painting, free draws, environmental exhibits and more! Bring gloves, a shovel and dress appropriately (boots), as this event goes rain or shine.



Ripple Effect Earth Week Film Festival – Tues. April 22nd to Sat. April 26th

Take the GO GREEN Challenge!

Sign up for the GO GREEN Challenge and earn points towards an Earth Day Award. Participate in activities such as recycling, energy conservation, community clean-ups, litter-less lunch, or the 3R’s rummage sale. Support a local school’s Earth Day transportation requirements or tree planting initiatives. Earth Day will plant a 16 foot tree to recognize the winners of the GO GREEN Challenge. Earth Day Hamilton provides free environmental education to thousands of local students each year. Our goal is to build the next generation of environmental leaders. Sponsorship of our events increases our capacity to serve the community. All funds raised support youth environmental education at our annual Eco-festival hosted at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
