HMCS Olympus (Sub)

The HMCS Olympus came in through the piers this morning, not under power but on the Heddle Marine dry dock barge.

The Spec had a small article on the sub;

I don't get why they just don't scrap it here in Hamilton? Anyway on CH11 news today, they said it was heading to Port Maitland for scrap, but could be part of a museum piece in another town, I didn't catch the name of the location.

I first seen it a few miles out in the lake and I couldn't figure out what it was, then it was on the news later on. Didn't have my camera either.

The Olympus has gone for scrap and Okanagan is next;

The HMCS Okanagan was pulled through the piers yesterday by the tugs Ecosse and the Seahound and here are a few pictures;

I seen on CH news last week that one of the subs caught fire while being scraped, no one was hurt.
Also added, the top section of one sub is to be kept for a museum piece, some history saved.
