Notification of Traffic Configuration Changes

Burlington Lift Bridge(Burlington/Hamilton)

Please be advised that as of January 2, 2007 to March 2, 2007, FACCA Incorporated will be doing a sidewalk replacement project on the Burlington Lift Bridge.
As a result, the traffic configuration on the bridge will be reduced from the existing four (4) lanes with two lanes in each direction to two (2) lanes with one lane in each direction.
The lane reductions may cause some additional congestion at the structure and want to notify your organization so they may govern accordingly.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.
Thank you and have a good day.

FACCA Inc.
Robert Coulombe, Project Manager (905) 407-7607 cell.

Just an update, the span sidewalk replacement seems to be as scheduled, all the old railings and deck surface have been removed and the grids that hold the concrete have been installed. Won't be too long before we see some new railings.

The weather isn't cooperating with sidewalk upgrade as it has been very cold lately and now we are getting a heavy blanket of snow. But the railing uprights are almost all install and ready for siderails. Once all the grating and railings are finished, the concrete can be poured which shouldn't too far away from being done and completion of the new sidewalk.

The concrete deck was being poured during the last couple of days and some sections of railing were install. Looks like all is on schedule for the March 2nd finish date.

The sidewalk project was completed on schedule and is now open to the public, all the road barriers have been removed and all four traffic lanes are back to normal.
The Seaway will be open on March 20th this year, so expect to see some outbound shipping going through the channel beginning on the 18th.
Also, there could a number of test lifts before the openning date to check how lifting the span reacts with newly built sidewalk.
