This topic was discussed at the last Beach Council meeting as there were a few complaints.

All residents should take care when leaving the Beach onto the Woodward/Eastport exit. The combination of the upgrade to the QEW offramp and the closure of the Toronto bound Burlington St. ramp has forced a large number of trucks our way. There is a sign posted instructing trucks to use Eastport Dr and the Lift Bridge instead of turning right onto the Beach, but many do turn and then drive next intersection to get on the QEW Toronto. This is only a short drive and the trucks only want to use onramp, but the problem is that there isn't enough room for the trucks as many crowd the opposite lane when turning.
Again, watch to make sure there is enough room for your vehicle when exiting the Beach at the south end.

Well I told you so......

It had to happen sooner or later and it may of happen already without anyone from down here knowing.
Today around 10am a transport truck was turning on the Beach and it hit a small compact car that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The gentleman in the car wasn't injured, but he told me that he thought he was "going to get killed"
Again, keep a sharp eye on the on coming traffic when exiting the Beach at the south end.

Let's see if this works....

A new no right turn sign was erected today just before the turn onto Beach Blvd from Eastport. If trucks turn right on that intersection, they now can be fined.
If you see any trucks still turning, please let us know.
