Windermere Basin Bridge

Before the construction of Eastport Dr, the Beach was connected to Woodward Ave by a two lane bridge which crossed over Red Hill Creek.
Member Crawfish has sent in a picture of that bridge from 1959.
The long building in the background is National Steel Car.

Windemere Basin

Great picture Scott but for some reason I don't remember that bridge. I can't even figure out how we got to Woodward from Aldershot. Must have gone across it when we used the Beach. AH age. Isn't it wonderful.

Perhaps a thread on Windermere Basin isn't the place for National Steel Car as it isn't on the Beach. On my website I have a page on "Surrounding Area" that absorbs everything that is close but off topic.

That bridge is actually still there, the City just built Eastport Dr. around it. I will have to get a picture of it.
