'Actively ticketing and towing': You will have to pay to park at this popular Burlington destination on summer weekends

The City of Burlington has added a parking fee to the Beachway.
Drivers will be charged from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. until the end of September. Users can pay through the HonkMobile application on their cellphones.
Vito Tolone, director of transportation services, said the Beachway has become more popular and the city wants to ensure residents can use it safely.
“We are introducing paid parking on weekends this summer to help manage the parking and traffic flow. We are still under a stay-at-home order from the province so we’d like to remind Beachway visitors to plan ahead and possibly consider coming back another time if the parking lot is full, or to park in an alternative location,” said Tolone.
