I am going to start this thread again as we have a few new ships on the lakes;

Algoma's newest vessel, the Algoma Innovator, just transited the piers this week.

The Algoma Innovator is the first 650-foot self-unloading dry-bulk carrier built in the Equinox Class design. Delivered in 2017, the ship enters service in the Great Lakes trading area in the 2018 shipping season. Featuring all the innovations of the Equinox Class design, the vessel has been engineered to be a leader in the river class business. The forward-mounted boom permits the cargo to be delivered in niche spaces, allowing flexibility and greater access for the customer.

St. Catharines, Ontario (February 23, 2018) — Algoma Central Corporation (“Algoma” or “the Company”) (TSX: ALC), a leading provider of marine transportation services, today announced that the recently completed Algoma Innovator, the first of two new Equinox Class 650’ self-unloading dry-bulk freighters has commenced its voyage from Croatia to Canada. The vessel departed the 3 Maj shipyard in Croatia on February 23, 2018 and is expected to arrive in mid-March carrying a cargo of bauxite.
The Algoma Innovator will be the sixth Equinox Class vessel added to the Company’s domestic fleet and will be joined by the Algoma Sault in operations this spring, bringing the total vessels in the Class to seven; comprising four gearless bulkers and three self-unloaders. Five additional vessels are under development contracts.
“With the addition of the new class-leading vessels to our domestic fleet, the 2018 navigation season is already turning out to be an exciting one” said Ken Bloch Soerensen, President and CEO of Algoma. “The Algoma Innovator will be a leader in the river-class segment and we look forward to being able to offer more flexibility to our customers.”
Algoma has another four ships under development at the 3 Maj Shipyard with a fifth ship under construction at Yangzijiang shipyard in China.

Algoma Compass

A new ship to the Algoma fleet but not a newly built ship, the vessel was the Roger M. Kyes when launched back in 1973 and more recently the Adam E. Cornelius and as you can see in one of the pictures, the name still shows on the port side shot.
From Boatnerds;
The Adam E. Cornelius has been an active vessel in the American Steamship Company fleet participating in the stone, limestone, coal, and taconite/iron ore pellet trades. With a downturn in the steel industry, the vessel was laid up in Toledo from May through September 2001 after which she returned to service.

Adam E. Cornelius laid up at Huron, Ohio, on Jan. 6, 2015. In late December 2017, American Steamship Co. sold the vessel, along with three others, to the Algoma Central Corp. of St. Catharines, Ont. The vessel returned to service in 2018 as Algoma Compass.

Another new Algoma vessel came through the piers this week, the Algoma Sault joins the fleet, another ship built in China.

"The Algoma Sault — the second Seaway-max Equinox class self-unloading bulk carrier — left Yangzijiang Shipyard in China on Feb. 3 and will make its way across the Pacific Ocean, through the Panama Canal and Caribbean before heading up the east coast of the U.S. and Canada on the Atlantic Ocean."

Already a little worn due to passage in the Welland Canal;

The Algoma Sault, built in 2017, is the second self-unloading Equinox Class 740-foot bulk carrier. The vessel name pays tribute to the long-standing relationship between Algoma Central Corporation and the City of Sault Ste. Marie and recognizes the important role that marine shipping plays within this community.

From today, the Argentia Desgagnes;

Another new ship from the Algoma fleet, the Algoma Niagara.

Another new ship transiting the canal, the Manitoulin,

The M.V. Manitoulin has been successfully commissioned and delivered.
Following the success of similar programs completed by CSL, Algoma and Klaveness, a new forebody has been affixed to the refurbished aft section of the acquired Danish-flagged vessel Lalandia Swan. The Manitoulin is the first new Canadian-flagged river class self-unloader introduced into service on the Great Lakes in over 40 years. She has the largest lift capacity of any existing Canadian-flagged river class self-unloader.
Lower Lakes Towing's new 25,000 dwt vessel is fitted with an EMS-Tech Inc. engineered self-unloading system rated for 5,500 tph. The self-unloading equipment is comprised of two tunnel conveyors fitted with EMS-Tech patented Feeder Gates, two transfer conveyors, a 19 metre lift 'C' Loop conveyor, and an 80 metre long discharge boom.

Algoma Central Corporation Announces the Algoma Conveyor is Headed for Canada
St. Catharines, Ontario (February 18, 2019) — Algoma Central Corporation (“Algoma” or “the Company”) (TSX: ALC), a leading provider of marine transportation services, today announced that the recently completed Algoma Conveyor, the third Seawaymax Equinox Class 740’ self-unloading dry-bulk carrier, has begun its delivery voyage from China to Canada.

The vessel began its two month journey home, departing the Yangzijiang shipyard on February 16, 2019. After taking fuel in the Philippines the vessel will cross the Pacific Ocean, travelling through the Panama Canal and from there will make its way to Canada. The vessel is expected to arrive in early April.

“We are looking forward to the Algoma Conveyor joining our fleet for the 2019 navigation season as market demand and volumes are strong,” said Gregg Ruhl, President and CEO of Algoma. “Our Canadian crews and our customers are excitedly awaiting the arrival of our new ship,” added Mr. Ruhl.

The Algoma Conveyor will be the eighth Equinox Class vessel to join Algoma’s Domestic Dry-Bulk fleet since the first vessel, the Algoma Equinox, arrived in 2013. The Algoma Conveyor was the first and only Equinox self-unloader partially built for Algoma by the now bankrupt Nangtong Mingde shipyard. Algoma acquired the hull at auction in September, 2017 and it was then taken to the Yangzijiang shipyard for final construction. The Equinox Class fleet now includes four gearless bulkers and four self-unloaders. Replacement of ageing ships with modern, fuel- efficient and environmental friendly vessels enables Algoma to better serve the evolving needs of its customers.

From 2008, the Algobay is on it's way from Hamilton to China to be rebuilt as a self-unloader. In October 2012 the bulk carrier was renamed the Radcliffe Latimer.
